Camping Power Sources:
Renogy Solar Panel- We love our Suitcase Solar Panel. We have been using it regularly since hitting the road full-time and it has kept us powered on many boondocking/camping occasions. We hook it up directly to our RV to charge the batteries and we also use it to charge our portable Lithium battery from Inergy.

Portable Lithium battery from Inergy- This was one of our first purchases and the kids agree, it was one of the best! We have used our battery to charge our devices, power our blender and run our air compressor out on the trails. The model we have is no longer in production, but we highly recommend this companies products. We have no affiliation and receive no benefits from this company. We simply like their products.
Water while Camping:
Water Storage Bladder-
Low Suction Electric Water Transfer Removal Utility Pump With Suction Hose Kit
Cooking/Food Storage while Camping:
Blue Coolers: In the beginning of our overlanding adventures we just used an inexpensive igloo cooler. I worked well for an afternoon outing, but we quickly realized that we needed one that would stay cold longer and hold up in the heat of the desert. That is when we found the Blue Cooler. This thing keeps ice for up to 10 days! The come with dividers and baskets to keep things dry, but cold. Our style has wheels and a handle. Our favorite feature is the easy latch system for use on our roof rack. We have limited space in the rig when all 5 of us are piled in with the dogs and the roof rack is the only option for storage. This latch system allows us to open the cooler without having to strap and unstrap the cooler from the roof. This is very convenient for long days on the trail.
Blackstone Tabletop Griddle: Lauren waited for over a year to make this purchase and quickly regretted not doing it sooner. The Blackstone is great for outside cooking and cleans up easily, which is important when your water supply is limited. An added bonus: The grill top can be removed and used indoors on our propane stove. This reduces the need for keeping a griddle inside the rig as well, which helps with managing our limited storage. But in all honesty, we would have used this grill regularly in our sticks and bricks house as well. We have the 22†griddle and its large surface area makes it great for cooking for larger crowds.
Camp Chef Compact and Portable Outdoor Camping Gas Fire Ring: Who doesn’t love a good campfire?! Our family loves them! Unfortunately wood fires are being restricted in more and more places due to the risk of wildfires. In addition, the smokey smell permeates everything and when you live on the road it is not something we want to have lingering all the time. A propane pit gives us the peace of mind that we will not leave any coals that could start a wildfire and keeps us smelling fresh (Well, at least as fresh as you can be when you are boondocking for weeks at a time :P )
Camping Shelters:
Clam Shelters: In the full-time community Clam shelters are a favorite! It took us a while to bite the bullet and purchase one, but we are sure glad we did! Our favorite way to use it is on a cold night with our propane fire pit. We can all huddle around the fire pit and stay nice and warm in below freezing temps. The side panels are versatile and allow for control of airflow. There are several style available to meet different needs. We chose the larger 10 person Pavilion Camper so we could have room to accommodate small groups. The roof and side panels can be removed to become a screened gazebo on warmer days, keeping you away from the pesky mosquitos. The tent sets up in under 2 minutes and goes back in its back with the same ease. They are designed to collapse on themselves in strong winds rather than to blow away. However we have not tested this claim yet. Because it is so easy to put up and down, we usually put it away at night if there is a chance of high winds.
Favorite Uses:
• To keep warm by the fire
• An extra office space
• A shaded play area for the kids
• A fly and mosquito free place to eat outside
• An extra tent for visitors
Coleman Dome Tent with Screen Room: When we started camping we actually had a large 12 person tent with dividers that created 3 rooms. It was great for the space, but it took up a lot of room and we found ourselves having a harder time staying warm in such a large space. So, when we hit the road full-time, we downsized to this tent that sleeps 6. The screen room works well as an added space for the dogs to hang out or for Mom and Dad to hangout in while the kids are in bed.
Thermarest Camping Pads: These camping pads tend to cost more then the generic ones, but after going through several ‘cheaper brands’ we finally settled on these and find ourselves sleeping much more comfortably.
Camping Storage:
Plano Storage Trunks: If you have seen our videos then you have most likely notices 2 grey boxes strapped on our roof rack. These trunks go everywhere with us since we are a family of 5 with 2 dogs, meaning there is not much space left inside the vehicle. These trunks are Plano Storage Trunks. We have used them in all kinds of weather and never had issues with moisture build-up. So far they have kept pests out despite often being stored on the ground under our RV. We can use them as outdoor seating for 2 kids or one adult.
Front Runner Wolf Pack Box: These are stronger than the Plano Storage trunks and can withstand adults standing on top. The Front Runner is smaller and allows for more modular storage options, but since we knew we would need larger storage options the Plano Trunks are what we bought to use on our roof rack. These are great for someone needing compact modular storage.
